The Indian Snake - Snake from Maharashtra, Shivaji's Raigad Fort

This particular snake was tricky to capture in the lens. This reptile was having his nice morning crawl round the hill side when it was disturbed by a group of Indian trekkers threading their way to Shivaji's Raigad Fort in the state of Maharashtra, India.

Hiss! scares the snake!

The snake had emerged from one of the crevices in the mountain cliffs adjoining the path leading to Shivaji Maharaj's Raigad fort and was surprised to encounter an unexpected party of troopers and started spear-heading in every possible direction. It generated a huge scare amongst the unsuspecting trekkers before it scuttled out of site onto adjoining bushes bordering the narrow path. I photographed this beauty as it darted past my left, not forgetting to mention that next it went from under me, as I jumped!! Indian Snakes are a beauty, but not when they scare you out like this one!.

Well, the crows calmed down, and got back to it's senses after this snake showed us the tail. It is critical for one to stay calm when one sees a snake, but seeing this incident. one can estimate 98% of the crowd jumps and shrieks when they encounter one of these poor crawling reptiles!

God save their species!
